I'm A Celebrity 2020: The Chase's Jenny Ryan drops major hint she's joining the line-up

The Chase star Jenny Ryan might be heading into the I'm A Celebrity jungle.

Fans are busy speculating after the Chaser and quiz genius tweeted that the show could be "a big opportunity for ol' Jenny."

Earlier today, the news dropped that I'm A Celeb will film in the UK for the first time in its 20 year history - after travel plans to Australia proved too much of a stretch amid coronavirus.

Now Jenny has turned the rumour mill, writing: "My main reservations about doing I'm A Celeb have always been 1. The Spiders 2. The Snakes 3. The Heat.

"This could be a big opportunity for ol' Jenny."

Mirror Online's reached out to Jenny's rep for comment.

Jenny's wouldn't be the first Chase alum to brave the show, after Anne Hegerty headed Down Under for the 2018 series.

And Anne weighed in on Jenny's tweets, coming back: "Outside of trials, 1. Spiders - only one big gravid one in overhang of pool, which no one used but me, 2. Snakes - nope, they patrol the camp perimeter very carefully, 3. Heat - less than you'd think, you're sleeping outside."

ITV announced today that the show would not head to Australia, rather it would stick about in Blighty.

Meanwhile, co-hosts and national treasures Ant and Dec will be returning, with the show thought to be moving to a rural abandoned castle.

For the first time, contestants will vie to be crowned King or Queen of the Castle (rather than jungle).

Kevin Lygo, ITV's Director of Television, said: "We announced last week that we were doing all we could to make the series and I'm thrilled that we can bring the show to viewers albeit not in the jungle."

"We have a great team both on and off screen," Richard Cowles, Director of Entertainment at ITV Studios added, "and I know they will produce a hugely entertaining series.

"We pulled out all the stops to make the series happen in Australia.

"Unfortunately, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and despite us looking at many different contingencies, it became apparent that it just wasn't possible for us to travel and make the show there.

"However, we are all really excited about a UK version of I'm A Celebrity. While it will certainly be different producing the show from the UK, the same tone and feel will remain.

"Our celebrities will probably have to swap shorts for thermals but they can still look forward to a basic diet of rice and beans and and plenty of thrills and surprises along the way."
