Shane Richie is the bookies’ favourite to win this year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
The 56-year-old EastEnders star is one of 10 celebrity contestants joining this year’s show, which is set at a derelict Welsh castle instead of the usual Australian bush.
The lineup was officially announced during an anniversary special on Sunday 8 November, in which presenters Ant and Dec took on a gruelling Bushtucker Trial for the first time.
Other celebrities taking part are: Paralympic gold medallist Hollie Arnold, Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard, Radio 1 DJ Jordan North, author Giovanna Fletcher, broadcaster and journalist Victoria Derbyshire, former EastEnders star Jessica Plummer, TV presenter Vernon Kay, and Coronation Street star Beverley Callard.
After the lineup was confirmed, betting company Ladbrokes shared its odds and revealed that Richie is currently leading at 5/2, ahead of Fletcher (4/1) and Farah (5/1).
Jessica O'Reilly of Ladbrokes told The Independent: “Shane's everyone's guilty pleasure, and he's already proving to be incredibly popular with punters along with Giovanna at the top of the betting.”
