I'm A Celebrity 2020 line-up 'will quarantine in Australia for two weeks before filming'

I'm A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here! is one of many hit shows with its 2020 series thrown into question amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

But ITV bosses are reportedly hoping to pull it off later this year by taking certain measures.

Australia, where the show's filmed, is currently enforcing rules which make anyone landing in the country isolate in designated hotels for two weeks.

While it's thought the Aussie government might start to relax the rules in coming weeks, The Sun reports that ITV might be flying out the new line-up a fortnight earlier so they can self-isolate ahead of filming.

A source told the publication: "[ITV] hope that they'll be able to go ahead by flying in the cast and crew and quarantining them for 14 days and people signed up for the show had been told to expect a longer stay in Oz, and also a larger cheque.

"They can't get any assurances from the Australia authorities that this will be a goer as, quite rightly, they've got more important issues on their plate, but the feeling is that it will happen."

The insider continued: "There has been some talk of planning a watered-down version in another part of the world but the worry is that there wouldn't be time for the team to build all the sets and the product would suffer."

ITV declined to comment when approached by Mirror Online.

The broadcaster's Kevin Lygo recently told that the show was likely to go ahead in December, but that alternatives were being drawn up behind the scenes in case it couldn't.

Meanwhile, fans are busy speculating about who could be heading Down Under.

The first official star to put her name down has been Corrie's Beverley Callard, who has space in her diary after waving goodbye to the Cobbles.

Former footballer John Barnes has told that he'd be up for a jungle stint, while ex Strictly pro AJ Pritchard is also a rumoured name after quitting the show.

Charles Ingram, who's alleged attempt to cheat at Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? has been thrown under the spotlight by ITV drama Quiz, is also a name fans have floated, as is The One Show's Matt Baker, now that he's stepped down from the role.
