I'm A Celebrity 2019: Fans 'heartbroken' over winner Jacqueline Jossa's 'doormat' comment

Soap star Jacqueline Jossa has been crowned Queen of the jungle after winning this year's series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The former EastEnders actress beat fellow soap star Andy Whyment during last night's (December 9) emotional final.

At the end of the ITV series, a tearful Jossa said "I have no words" and reeled off a list of special people in her life including her parents, children and husband Dan Osborne.

But I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! viewers were left heartbroken over Jossa branding herself a "doormat", Birmingham Live reports.

Discussing her time on the show, Jossa said: "It was not what I expected.

"It was a lot harder. I didn't think it would be such a turning point in life, I went in as one person, I feel like I have come out as a different person.

"I've grown in confidence and found who I am as a person."

She added: "I think it's so easy to care so much what other people think of you, trolls, people who say nasty things for the sake of it and I try to change their opinion.

"Here you have no choice, you have to be you. Here I have different people bigging me up of different ages, I can't really work out what is happening.

"I've always been known as Lauren from EastEnders, or a doormat, or whatever you want to call it, and coming here I have actually proved myself."

Scores of people took to social media to praise the actress for winning.

One Twitter user wrote: "Jac just made my heart break", while a second added: "Jacqueline is making me sad!"

"She's such a worthy winner," added another, while a fourth said: "Jacqueline has done herself proud."
