Cliff Parisi and Andrew Whyment 'set to be late additions' to I'm A Celebrity 2019 line up

EastEnders star Cliff Parisi is rumoured to be joining the I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! line-up later on this series.

The actor, 59, is one of two soap stars who will reportedly head Down Under and into the jungle after the original cast has settled in.

He played mechanic Minty Peterson for eight years and he'll recognise at least one fellow camp mate, as his EastEnders co-star Jacqueline Jossa is currently on the programme.

He is said to be heading in the jungle alongside Coronation star, Andrew Whyment, 38, who was tipped to be in the show earlier this month.

A source told the Sun: “Bosses decided that this year’s latecomers will be a soap duo.

“Cliff was really popular in 'Enders and he’s a big character off-screen too, so they think he’ll go down really well with viewers.”

Parisi currently stars as Fred Buckle in Call The Midwife.

Whyment, 38, plays Kirk in Coronation Street, has remained out of the headlines over the years despite also starring in The Royle Family and being a mainstay in the iconic soap.

If he's confirmed for this series, it wouldn't be his first foray into reality television - he previously took part in Soapstar Superstar in 2006 and has recently appeared on several game shows, including Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, Celebrity Chase and Big Star's Bigger Star.

This year’s confirmed line up consists of former Girls Aloud member Nadine Coyle, Capital Breakfast host Roman Kemp, former England striker Ian Wright and Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway, reality star Caitlyn Jenner, former England rugby star James Haskell, BBC Radio One DJ Adele Roberts, former EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa, comedian Andrew Maxwell and Rak-su singer Myles Stephenson.

Sunday night's launch episode saw them face a series of challenges before even making it to the camp, with Coyle and Jenner doing a terrifying sky dive.
