I'm A Celebrity 2019 betting odds in full as Ian Wright tries to make history

Reigning King of the Jungle, Harry Redknapp, did play football.

But way back in the 1960s and 70s, when the only jungle based shows on TV featured Tarzan or a cross-eyed lion called Clarence (That's Daktari, nostalgia buffs).

The 72-year-old jam roly poly-loving winner of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here is much better known as a football manager.

Which that means Ian Wright has to make history if he's going to succeed 'Arry on the Jungle throne this winter.

Wrighty is a popular pundit on BBC's Match of the Day, but is still widely celebrated as a record-breaking goalscorer for Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

And no personality best known for his skills on a football pitch has ever won the TV series.

However, Wrighty has been installed by thepools.com as the early favourite to succeed Redknapp. He was 2/1 tip but is now 6/1.

But it is reality TV stars who have been crowned King or Queen of the Jungle in three of the last four years.

Which suggests that Ex On The Beach narrator Andrew Maxwell might be worth a small wager at 33/1.

Before Redknapp, the only sporting winners of the series were cricketer Phil Tufnell, who pipped footballer John Fashanu in 2003, and superbike rider Carl Fogarty in 2014.

So there could be value in looking further afield than Wrighty in this year's betting.

Capital Radio DJ Roman Kemp is 5/1 - Radio One legend Tony Blackburn was the show's first ever winner in 2002 - and there is strong precedent for backing X-Factor winner Myles Stephenson (8/1) and Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle (20/1).

Singers Kerry Katona, Matt Willis, Stacey Solomon, Dougie Poynter and Kian Egan were all crowned winners in previous years.

Then there are the late arrivals who have livened up the show in recent years ....
