I'm A Celeb stars 'already preparing to fly to Australia' as show returns to jungle

I'm A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! is reportedly set to return Down Under this year after bosses were given the green light by the Australian government - and it's said the cast are already preparing to fly in.

The beloved series was forced to swap its usual home in the New South Wales jungle for the cold and wet Gwrych Castle, in North Wales last year amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now according to reports, the Australian government have given the go-ahead to producers of the show for filming to resume as normal this Autumn.

With four months before the next instalment, The Sun has reported that show producers have already begun telling potential contestants they should be ready to fly to the jungle.

A source told the publication: "Everyone is delighted with this news. All the signs are now pointing towards a return to the jungle.

"As great as a year in the castle was, the show is made by its surroundings and the glitz and glamour of the jungle.

"ITV have assurances from Australian border control bosses that even if a wider travel ban is still in place for tourists, they’ll get the paperwork and clearance they need to send cast and crew to Oz. It’s a big moment."

Last year, the series saw a whole host of celebrities take part in the competition as it relocated to Wales.

It went down a hit with fans, but there's no doubt viewers are missing the original jungle location.

Earlier this month, it was reported that I'm A Celeb bosses had to decide where they will host the next series of the show within two weeks.

And now bosses are set to make a decision regarding the location of this year's programme.

While Australia is the preferred - and cheaper - option, there were fears that another Covid outbreak would see the series scrapped all together if it was to return Down Under.

A source told Mail Online that "it's decision time" for the producers, with Wales pencilled in up to now.

"However if they choose Australia there is every chance it could be cancelled later down the line because of Covid If they choose Wales, it is guaranteed it will happen."

They revealed that it costs more to film in Wales due to the fact they'd have to build a set. But they said time is running out to make the decision, with plans in place for both locations.
