I'm A Celeb... South Africa fans to see outcome of history-making change

I'm A Celebrity... South Africa returned to TV screens last night (May 1), after being 'taken off air' over the weekend, as fans were informed of a first in the show's history. After five nights of action, the popular reality TV programme was taken off ITV's schedule during the weekend - but came back on Monday evening with a huge twist, with the outcome of that twist to be revealed tonight.

The show's hosts Ant and Dec presented Britain's Got Talent on Saturday night, while on Sunday, its usual 9pm slot was taken up by the second part of ITV's new medical drama Malpractice. But fans were pleased at its return last night as Ant and Dec made a shock announcement to campmates.

They revealed that for the first time in the show’s two-decade history, it will be the campmates who get to vote who will be leaving next. At the end of the episode, Dec told the celebs: "We bring news. For one of you, this will be your last night in camp. But this time, who that is, is up to you."

Former Countdown star Carol Vorderman reacted to the news, saying: “Oh no, that’s horrible." Former royal butler Paul Burrell added: "That’s not nice." The upcoming elimination comes after former rivals Shaun Ryder and Gillian McKeith became the first two contestants to leave

The new All Star spin-off series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! started on April 24. Several familiar faces entered the camp, located in South Africa, as the pre-recorded series sees them return to battle it out in the all-new competition.

The previously seen campmates have been whisked off to the new setting of Kruger National Park, instead of the Australian jungle, and with no public vote, they will be competing against each other in a number of challenges before the last person standing is given 'Legend' status.

Celebs taking part include Shaun Ryder, Amir Khan, Jordan Banjo, Phil Tufnell, Janice Dickinson, Fatima Whitbread, Paul Burrell, Helen Flanagan, Gillian McKeith, Georgia Toffolo, Myleene Klass and Carol Vorderman.

I’m A Celebrity…South Africa airs tonight at 9pm on ITV1 AND ITVX.
