I'm a Celeb's Shane Richie gets 'extraordinary' offers after jungle stint

Shane Richie is set to be a busy man after he leaves the I'm A Celeb jungle, as work offers for the star come rolling in.

The former EastEnders star has won over fans with his jokes and stories on the ITV show.

Shane, 56, claimed he was broke when he first went into the castle after losing work due to the pandemic.

But sources say interest from TV bookers has been “extraordinary” since he joined the camp - reports Mirror Online.

A show insider said: “Before going in Shane said he’d love to go back to EastEnders in 2021 but there are now other offers on the table too over the next 12 months.

"Shane’s going to be a busy man.

"He won’t be skint when he’s finished taking some of the opportunities available for him now, that’s for sure.

“ITV are interested in using him in some projects, and he has theatre work and other avenues to explore too.

"He was a huge star in the 90s and there is nothing to stop him having a big comeback in 2021.”

Before going into the castle, Shane admitted borrowing money from mates and selling one of his cars as his money ran out.

He said: “I was going on tour, doing a TV series and panto, but that all got cancelled in March.

"And now I’m literally skint.”

The funnyman has already hinted he could return next year to Albert Square, where he played Alfie Moon alongside Kat Slater for over a decade.

He said: “I’d love to go back.

"Who knows what will happen next year?”

But now there is also likely to be a bidding war for his second autobiography, called Beyond the Moon, which could now include an I’m A Celebrity chapter.

He also still has a UK tour of hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, postponed by lockdown.

But he might avoid ads, after telling in camp how appearing in one for Daz “killed his career”.
