I’m a Celeb’s Shane Richie admits he’s ‘numb and broken’ after falling ill

Shane Richie revealed on I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! on Friday that he feels "numb and broken" after a tough week and upset stomach.

He told his fellow campmate Beverley Callard that he was completely exhausted after spending most of the night on the toilet.

And things went from bad to worse when he had to do a gruelling Bushtucker trial with AJ Pritchard.

After the Chamber of Horrors trial, Shane told AJ: "I'm just numb, I'm broken."

AJ replied: "That was vile, I’m not going to be able to sleep the same tonight for sure, I'm going to be waking up every ten minutes.

During the trial, the pair were both sealed in a chamber with their body below ground and their head above it.

There were six rounds and in each round they had to get the star off of the thread using their tongue and mouth only, working against the clock.

Of course, they were joined by castle critters in the chambers, and shortly before the trial began, AJ said to Shane: “You’re shaking. I feel you shaking, he’s going for it.”

AJ volunteered to go first in the first round, and joked: "The curl cream is not going to survive this" as maggots and giant meal worms were added to their head and body boxes.

The Wardens added locusts and crickets to each of their boxes, as well as scorpions, rats and snakes.

Shane encouraged AJ, who he has previously feuded with, saying: "Smash it my pal!"

The pair secured 11 out of 12 stars for camp, Shane told AJ: "Well done bud!

"Tonight we eat like Kings and Queens!"

Pointing at Ant and Dec, Shane warned: "I really am done."
