I'm A Celeb's Paul Burrell SCREAMS as he's bitten by snake as he relives iconic trial

Paul Burrell was left screaming when he was bitten by a snake in the opening episode of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa.

The former royal butler gave viewers a blast from the past as he recreated the face he became famous for nearly 20 years ago.

The last time he appeared on the challenging ITV show, Paul, 64, gave viewers some iconic moments with his facial expressions.

He had many eye rolls as he was tasked with putting his hand in different hell holes back in 2004.

Now, he has returned to the camp with a band of previous stars to battle it out to become the first I'm A Celebrity Legend.

Introducing himself, Paul told viewers that his life looked very different now: "Since then, my life has changed completely. I was a married man with two children, now I'm divorced and remarried this time to a man."

But Paul managed to keep one thing the same - his memorable trial facial expressions.

Viewers were reminded of the scenes from nearly 20 years ago with clips of old footage as he reached into holes filled with rats while crying.

This time, a horrified Paul had to put his hand inside a hell hole containing a snake - and he was right back to 2004.

He cringed and shrieked, with Janice encouraging him as Shaun laughed.

Paul whimpered: "Janice, it's going to bite me! It's a snake, it's a snake! It's biting me!"

But Shaun wasn't so sympathetic as he had actually been bitten by a snake during his first I'm A Celeb appearance in 2010.

Although Paul managed to get the key from under the snake, his ordeal was not over yet as he had to reach into another hell hole - this time filled with cockroaches.

He complained: "Oh, this is a world away from Windsor Castle."

But Shaun joked: "I'm sure there were a lot of cockroaches there, Paul."

Fans were loving the return of Paul's iconic reactions, as one tweeted: "I don’t know what was funnier Paul’s scream or his face."

Another wrote: "Love that we're getting the Paul Burrell sequel on the first night! So many facial expressions of terror on one face!"

Despite Paul being taken back to his worst moment in I'm A Celeb, he vowed that nothing would make him drop out of the show by saying 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!'.
