I'm A Celeb's Matty Lee says fellow diver Tom Daley 'wouldn't survive' camp

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Matty Lee has revealed that he doesn't think Tom Daley would be able to hack the show.

The 23-year-old British diver and Olympic gold medallist joked that 27-year-old Tom 'wouldn't survive' in Gwrych Castle.

During Thursday night's episode, the celebrities were chatting about who they looked up to when they were younger and Danny Miller couldn't resist gushing about David Ginola again.

Danny revealed that he's been a fan of former footballer David since he was five or six-years-old: “It’s bonkers honestly. I had top number 14 because of him because he was 14 for Tottenham. And now I’m in bed with him!"

Matty then chimed in: "My childhood hero was Tom [Daley] and I’ve been in bed with him."

Danny replied: "And kind of won a gold medal with him…"

Speaking about his fellow diver some more, Matty divulged: "He does [smell good]. I do too. He wouldn’t smell good here."

The campmates misheard and thought Matty said Tom wouldn’t survive in camp, to which he replied: "He wouldn’t, that’s why I’m here!"

Later on in the Telegraph," Matty told the camera about Tom's sleeping habits: "He [Tom] does sometimes snore, but so do I. I can’t really comment in a bad way about that.

"He’s not a wriggler which is good, he very much stays on his side on the bed and I’m on the other side which is ideal."

During the summer, Matty dove to victory with Tom as they won their first gold in synchronised diving at the Tokyo Olympics.

And he was approached for I'm A Celeb just minutes after achieving the fantastic feat.

“Nothing ever prepares you for what life will be like after you do well in the Olympics," he said. "I was and still am mainly in shock that I am doing I’m A Celebrity.

"My two childhood dreams were to win an Olympic medal and take part in my favourite TV series. And now I am doing both this year!

“My family is buzzing about it all. We were on the way back from the airport where they had picked me up from Tokyo when I got a call about the programme.

“When I told Tom, he was in shock too! He is so excited for me and he has always been so supportive and helped me a lot over the past three years. He gives me advice about anything whether it is relationships or whatever - I always ask Tom.”

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! airs at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
