I'm A Celeb's Matt Hancock thrown in hole and drenched with bugs and slime in first look

Matt Hancock looks set for a rough ride into camp as he and Seann Walsh struggled through their first Bushtucker Trial.

In a teaser clip released ahead of tonight's show the pair were seen taking part in' The Beastly Burrows' challenge in a bid to win stars for their new campmates.

The comedian and Hancock were put into a tunnel during the challenge and ended up covered in bugs, gunk and slime.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly can be seen giggling as controversial contestant Hancock squirms his way through a tight tunnel as he takes on his first ever task.

Viewers will see the full trial tonight and also witness them arriving in camp to meet the other celebrities.

Before going into the show, disgraced MP Hancock told viewers they would "see the real me".

In his final interview Hancock said his phobias include "snakes", adding: "I don't thankfully suffer from claustrophobia -or I think I don't."

He added: "Lots of people have a view on me from being health secretary in the pandemic dealing with some very difficult issues, but that's not the whole story.

"I am looking forward to throwing myself into it all like I do everything in life. You can't hide anything in the jungle, you see somebody warts and all."

Amazingly despite the controversy around him signing up the 44-year-old MP felt he had a chance of winning and said being crowned king would be the "icing on the cake".

Fellow new contestants Seann Walsh said he hoped the show could change his public perception.

The 36-year-old late entry comedian is best known for snogging his Strictly Come Dancing co-star in 2018.

He and pro partner Katya Jones on Strictly were pictured in a clinch on a night out when they both had partners and he was dubbed a love rat.

Seann says his new partner, Grace Adderley, made him realise going on the hit ITV programme in the jungle would finally be a chance to show viewers what he is really like.

“Grace is the main reason why I am doing I’m A Celebrity,” said Seann.

“As you can imagine I was very scared after the last time I was on a big show because the fallout was not something you would want to go back to.

"Grace talked me into doing it. She convinced me it was the wrong attitude to have, not doing it because I feared what people would think, but to do it because I would have a wonderful time."

You can see the full trial on I'm A Celebrity tonight at 9pm.
