I’m a Celeb’s Matt Hancock leaves viewers cringing as he ‘recreates scandal photo’ with Gina Coladangelo

I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! viewers were left cringing as they likened Matt Hancock’s reunion with girlfriend and former aide Gina Coladangelo to the leaked CCTV footage of them kissing during the pandemic. This led to Hancock resigning as health secretary.

Hancock finished the ITV series in third place on Sunday, telling hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly in his exit interview that he entered the jungle to show “what I’m like as a person”.

He added: “I know that it was controversial me coming here, I know some people said people in your position shouldn’t put themselves in embarrassing situations.

“But we’re all human and we all put ourselves in it.”

After the interview, Hancock walked across the show’s iconic bridge and was reunited with his girlfriend. He told her “I love you so much.”

The pair were clearly thrilled to see one another after three weeks apart as they embraced and kissed. They then smiled for the cameras and joined Hancock’s former campmates.

Of the pair’s reunion being similar to their infamous kiss in June 2021, one Twitter user said: “Not matt basically recreating the scandal picture with gina at the end of the bridge (sic).”

“Did anyone else have disturbing flashbacks when Matt hugged Gina?” another remarked.

A third quipped: “We’ve already seen matt snogging gina once don’t need to see it again thanks (sic).”

Jill Scott was the winner of I’m A Celebrity, beating Owen Warner to be crowned queen of the jungle for 2022.

The former England Lionesses footballer, 35, told hosts Ant and Dec: “I just can’t believe it. Honestly, I think I’m going to owe my grandma a lot of money for the 12 million votes she’s done.

“We were one big team. I don’t think there should be one winner, we couldn’t have got through it without all of us.”
