I’m A Celeb’s Julia Morris Reveals What She Really Thinks Of Deni Hines’ Fiery Energy

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia has officially kicked off with a slew of famous folks jumping into the South African jungle. Now, with the cast revealed, long-running host Julia Morris has opened up about working with ’90s pop star Deni Hines and revealed what she really thinks of her fierce energy.

Kicking off the reality TV roster for 2026, Network 10 gifted us a fresh season of the family-friendly yet nail-biting show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Alongside covergirl Rachel Hunter and NRL player-turned-BookTok-creator Luke Bateman, singer Deni Hines was also revealed to be a part of the whole shebang, entering the show straight into a challenge where she was launched into the air via a bungee.

But of course, with I’m A Celeb being I’m A Celeb, a lot of these folks in the entertainment industry have previously crossed paths, which is the case for host Morris and Hines.

Speaking to Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, Morris reflected on her experience competing against the iconic singer on the Celebrity Apprentice in 2011 after Michael Wippa expressed his excitement seeing Hines’ fiery attitude in the South African jungle.

“I’ve seen Deni Hines on social media now, when she fires up, my god,” Wippa said before Morris spilled on her experience with the “That Word” songstress.

“I did series one of the Celebrity Apprentice with Deni and, you know, I wish I had an ability to be more honest with the stuff that’s directly in my head and then out my mouth, right?” Morris said.

“Like, there’s some phone calls you get on where you’re like, I wish I could absolutely rip this, so there has gotta be a freedom in that.”

Throughout the 2011 season of Celebrity Apprentice, Hines and Morris clashed multiple time, with the public calling the singer out for her competitive attitude.

Despite their differences, Morris defended Hines after the season finished, claiming the hate the singer copped was from a place of racism.

“Deni hasn’t just been bullied, there’s a lynch mob after her and I’m not altogether convinced that’s not something to do with the fact she doesn’t have white skin. The fact someone would chastise her about bullying by nearly bullying her into the grave just takes my breath away,” she told The Daily Telegraph back in 2011.

Ultimately, Morris won the shebang, copping a $100,000 cheque for the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Hines is competing on I’m A Celebrity for Monika’s Rescue, an organisation that is dedicated to rehoming and saving pets from council pounds.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns tonight on Network 10 and 10play at 7pm.
