They are campmates in the Castle...but David Ginola and Simon Gregson could have been Corrie colleagues on the Cobbles.
In 2002, Ginola’s team reportedly approached Corrie bosses for a part on the soap after aspirations to become an actor.
The star had acting lessons and had also made inquiries at RADA.
"David has the looks, personality and charisma to be a genuine superstar," his agent previously said around the same time.
"As a result, we get bombarded with scripts for both TV and film projects for him to do. But he is very sensible, a perfectionist, who never wants to do a bad job.

"He doesn’t see himself as an actor yet but he is willing to try learning the craft with the best tutors to see if he is up to it."
Ginola, who had only recently retired from English football, had already been taught projection, reading texts and dramatic interpretation by the French actor.
The agent added at the time: "I really couldn’t tell you who he is. He’s far too famous."
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! airs every night at 9pm on ITV.
