I'm A Celeb's Danny will spend the 'rest of his life' making up after being away from his son

I'm A Celebrity winner Danny Miller has vowed to spend the "rest of his life" making it up to his baby son - after being away from the tot during the first few weeks of his life.

The Emmerdale star decided to go on the ITV show - which he won last night ahead of Simon Gregson and Frankie Bridge - just three weeks after he and fiancé Steph welcomed their son Albert.

And whilst he has missed the first few weeks of his baby's life, he has vowed to make up for it for the rest of his life.

Danny vowed to make it up to his son Albert for the rest of his life after leaving him to go on I'm A Celebrity (ITV)

Speaking on ITV's Good Morning Britain, he said: "Fortunately for him, he has no idea but fortunately for me, I have missed him. He won't know but I certainly have. I'll spend the rest of my life making sure I make it up to him."

Danny also confessed he can't wait to be reunited with his wife-to-be and son later today.

He added: "Albert is six and a half weeks now. I've not seen him yet, obviously I've stayed here in Wales and I've done the interviews. I'm waiting to go back today to see them, I can't wait to put him in my arms and see him again."

It comes after Danny confessed he was doing the show to set him and his family up for a "good future" financially.

"I have made no secret about the fact that I wanted to be able to give him and set him up for a good future," he said to hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly before his win yesterday.

"I wasn't financially set for that and this is an opportunity to do that. It would set me and my family up. I feel like I have done it. I feel proud of myself and I hope my family are as well."

When he triumphed on the show, the Emmerdale star dedicated his win to his family.

He said: "I never thought I'd be in this position, I barely thought I'd make it through the first two or three votes or so.

"I mean honestly, from the bottom of my heart and my family's heart - thank you so much, this is just the best thing that's ever happened to me, bar my son."
