He was clearly in the festive spirit, adding a number of emojis, including a Christmas tree, Santa face and present.
Fans rushed to compliment the pic with one saying: “Merry Christmas to you and your gorgeous family.”
A second wrote: “What a beautiful family. Awww lovely.”
The Emmerdale actor has had to fight his corner in recent weeks, sharing the heart-wrenching decision to enter the castle and leave Albert behind when he was just a few weeks old.
Chatting exclusively with The Mirror, the 30-year-old defended his decision after some viewers branded him “out of order”.
He said: “Everyone is going to have their own opinion... some people think it’s out of order.
“But there’s people who work for a less wage who have to go away and provide for their family who work in the Army, who don’t get contact and don’t get to see them for six months.

“This is three weeks of my life and Albert isn’t really going to remember me not being there or not."
He added: “Alright, I’m not going to have that three weeks, but I’ll spend the rest of his life making that up to him.
“It will give me money to be able to do things with him that I wouldn’t have been able to do five or six years ago.
“So to sacrifice three weeks for Steph and the baby was almost an easy decision to make.”
Danny and Steph, a hardworking midwife, are set to marry next year after they got engaged in St Lucia in January 2021.
