I'm A Celeb's Charlene White says Matt Hancock's arrival 'shattered' good nature in camp

Charlene White addressed her I'm A Celebrity exit on Loose Women today as she spoke about how Matt Hancock's explosive arrival in camp went down.

The ITV news anchor, 42, talked about her stint in the jungle after being the first star evicted from the show on Sunday night.

Charlene revealed what it was like living with the former Health Secretary, 44, and how she massively regrets not telling her campmates the real reason she didn't want to share the RV with him.

Explaining how the happy atmosphere quickly changed in camp when Hancock arrived with Seann Walsh, she said: "I was surprised that he'd chosen to do it. It was the impact on the rest of the camp was interesting.

"People thought the good nature of the camp was going to shatter. I had to spend quite a lot of time with people on the first day reminding them whatever he did outside the camp is different to inside the camp.

"The team grew to trust him and lean on him because he knew how to do a lot of stuff."

Charlene went on to address why she refused to sleep alongside Hancock in the RV when she was camp deputy.

Having initially refused to sleep there because of spiders, the Loose Women presenter admitted she regrets not telling her camp she felt sleeping alongside him put her job as a journalist as risk.

"The RV was a very intimate space," she said.

"I felt that being in intimate environment with a very high profile MP, I was worried how it would be taken in the future. It just didn't sit well with me.

"I always have to mindful of my main objective as a journalist."

Charlene said she was worried how it would reflect that she had shared a sleeping space alongside the former Health Secretary if she was interviewing an opposition party member.

She added she had no clue about his arrival having had to be in isolation before entering the jungle and so wasn't sure how the public were perceiving him.

Charlene said: "We had no idea how he was perceived at home. I felt that I needed to ask question that many people would want answers to. Matt is a sitting MP and we asked them and it was never asked again.

"We got on well in camp. I just had to walk a tightrope in camp, which was fine because he was lovely."
