I'm A Celeb's Celebrity Cyclone challenge going ahead despite fears it would be cut

I’m A Celebrity's Cyclone Challenge was the jewel in the crown of the show, but it was feared that it may not form part of this year's series after its move to Wales.

During the task, celebs don superhero-style capes and try to retrieve stars from a slippery hill, and it's been a regular fixture since series six in 2006.

Viewers had been concerned the task, which is normally filmed outside in the Australian jungle, wouldn't go ahead, but now a source has claimed it will take place as normal.

A TV insider told The Sun: “This often took place in the heat of the Australian jungle which meant it could easily be staged outside where it needs huge amounts of space.

“That left fans wondering if building something similar in Gwrych Castle in Wales might be impossible, because of the freezing temperatures and the limited room inside the building and its grounds.

“But it seems producers, who are determined to ensure the British equivalent is just as fun as the one Down under, have found a way to make it happen.”

Mirror Online has contacted ITV for comment.

Celebrity Cyclone is often cited as the show's most-loved challenge by viewers, but it's less fun for the stars taking part.

The task has been a regular feature since 2006 when Myleene Klass, 42, Jason Donovan, 52, and Matt Willis, 37, battled to win stars.

Last night Hollie Arnold became the first celebrity of the 2020 series to get the boot after the public vote.

Hollie, 26, was informed by hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly that she had received the fewest votes and so had to leave the castle.

Hollie cried as she admitted she already missed her fellow campmates after they all struck up and incredible bond.

She revealed she was "devastated" to be leaving the show already.

"I am devastated, but one of us has to go, right?" she said.

"You have to be prepared, but honestly that was just the best experience I've ever had, I didn't want to leave."
