I'm A Celeb's Boy George says Chris Moyles 'evolved as a human' over the years

Chris Moyles and Boy George are secretly good friends, and the pop icon thinks the radio DJ has “evolved as a human” over the years.

The pair know each other through Chris’ long-term girlfriend Tiffany Austin, who has been the Karma Chameleon singer’s day-to-day manager since June 2018.

However they have not let on to viewers how well connected they are.

Before the series started George, 61, has admitted he always imagined it would be “a bit creepy” if he was pals with Chris, 48 - who has interviewed the Culture Club frontman numerous times over the years - but he insists it is “not weird”, and he has noticed changes in his friend since his early career.

Speaking to Chris, he said: “I always thought if I ever knew you it would be a bit creepy, but actually it’s not. That’s what is weird about it, that it’s not weird.

“You’re gorgeous, and you’ve become different. You’ve evolved as a human and people can’t believe it. They’re like, ‘You haven’t really though have you? You’re still that person aren’t you?’

“There used to be fear coming in to see you years ago, long ago. Now, you’re very sophisticated and we’re friends. Now I’m like literally all the time going, ‘How did I end up being almost family with Chris Moyles?’ Let’s not get weird.”

Chris - who previously hosted the Radio 1 Breakfast Show - and George took on the first Bushtucker Trial together this week, alongside former campmate Olivia Attwood, 31, and Scarlette Douglas, 35.

The pair were put inside chambers which began to fill with water, leaving them struggling to breathe, and Chris has already acted as a sounding board for George in camp, as the singer shared some of his jungle issues with his pal.

But away from the ITV show, Chris once acted as George’s security guard after the star returned home to find out his alarm was off, and he began “freaking out”.

George explained: “The best story was when I came home one night and the alarm was off, so I was freaking out. Chris and Tiff turned up and Chris went in first. I was like, ‘I’m not going in there.’ He went in, looked around. There was no one in there. It was fine. I would’ve stayed outside all night.”

Chris also once delivered George’s shopping to his house with his girlfriend Tiff, and found it a surreal experience.

Speaking to George on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X in May, Chris added:

“My girlfriend works with George. There was a lovely moment where we dropped shopping to his house. As I’m carrying it up his driveway to his front door I said to Tiff, ‘When I watched Top of the Pops years ago, never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be bringing Boy George his shopping.’

“But then as I walked in the first thing George said was, ‘I can’t believe Chris Moyles is bringing my shopping in, I’d have never have thought it.’ “
