Beverley Callard has said that the live final of I’m A Celebrity has “wiped her out” as she issued a new update on her breast cancer journey.
The 69-year-old, who played Rovers Return bartender Liz McDonald for three decades on the ITV soap, announced in February that the illness is in its “very early stages”.
Callard had to leave the reality show, which was filmed back in September, early after she became unwell. She later explained that she had lost consciousness in the camp but did not know that cancer was the cause.
Responding to the dramatic live final, which she was unable to attend in person but video called in for, Callard said that the experience left her “wiped for days”. She added that she is currently waiting for test results which she hopes will arrive shortly.
