I'm A Celeb's Beverley Callard says mother-in-law is 'proud' of 'mega sh*g' claim

Beverley Callard had a moment of 'forgetting where she was' while in the I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! castle but her comment hasn't upset her mother-in-law.

The 63-year-old Coronation Street legend was heard labelling her husband Jon a "mega sh*g" and it went on to be a running joke with show hosts Ant and Dec for the rest of the series.

While Jon was reportedly "mortified" at his bedroom prowess being coined in such a way, it would seem that his mum is feeling "proud" about his now found status.

Beverley was left red-faced during her exit interview when she realised that her comments about their sex life had been broadcast to the nation.

She had told some of her fellow campmates: "Jon's very handsome, he's a mega sh*g.

"He is a mega sh*g and he dances for me in the kitchen every morning and makes me laugh my socks off."

Beverley returned to the subject on Sunday, during A Castle Story, which looked back over their time in camp.

She said that she worried that Jon's 88-year-old mother might not speak to her again after her raunchy turn of phrase.

It would seem though, that this couldn't be further from the truth and that she is actually "proud" of her son's new moniker.

Bev said: "I really thought they would edit that out.

"I was convinced my mother-in-law wouldn't speak to me. She's 88 and she's really proud.

"Now she's telling people that's her son."

During an appearance on Lorraine, the day after she had been evicted from the camp, Beverley said that she "wanted to die" when she realised that her nickname for Jon had been on TV.

She told Lorraine: "I can't believe they aired that.

"I just thought they were quite bad words so they'll edit that, when Ant and Dec played the clip for me last night I wanted to die."

Lorraine placated Beverley, saying: "It was funny, it was a laugh - as he said himself, it could have been a lot worse."

Yes, her husband may have been nothing worth shouting about on prime time television.
