I'm A Celebrity 'in advanced talks' with Keith Duffy after Boyzone tour is postponed

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! bosses are said to be in "advanced talks" with Keith Duffy.

Keith was reportedly asked to take part in the ITV show last year but was going on tour with ex Boyzone bandmate Brian McFadden.

But after the 37-date tour was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic until 2021, he has been approached again, it's claimed.

According to The Sun, Keith has been having Zoom meetings with bosses to discuss his appearance in the jungle.

A source said: "Since the location moved from Australia to North Wales it's been a little more tricky to get people on board but the team are confident they sold it well.

"Keith would make for a brilliant campmate with his celebrity tales and his can-do attitude."

The insider added that the timing had never been right for Keith in the past.

"Everyone hopes that he might take a chance this time around," they said.

Mirror Online has contacted reps for Keith and ITV for comment.

This year I'm A Celeb will move from Australia to Gwrych Castle in Abergele in Wales due to Covid restrictions.

The cost of hiring the castle for six weeks is thought to be more than £1million.

Richard Cowles, Director of Entertainment at ITV Studios said of the castle: "The Australian jungle is such an integral part of the show it was a big challenge to find a UK location where we could continue to deliver what viewers love about I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

"But Gwrych will definitely do that; the castle sits in an amazing and atmospheric setting on a hillside overlooking the Irish Sea.

"While there will be plenty of changes required as we move from New South Wales in Australia to North Wales in the UK, we are really excited to see how we can adapt the format and make the castle our new home for a very special 20th series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! this autumn."
