I'm A Celeb Hollie Arnold's brother defends her as Ant McPartlin mocks MBE habit

Hollie Arnold's brother and mum have been forced to defend her habit of bringing up her MBE title following fans' criticism.

The British Paralympian, who competes in the F46 javelin category, has been called out by I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! viewers for mentioning the fact she has an MBE on numerous occasions.

Even hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donelly have ribbed her on occasion, including after the very first episode where she introduced herself to her campmates as an MBE.

The 26-year-old's brother and mum appeared on ITV's GMB on Friday 27 to discuss her journey in the castle with show host Richard Arnold, reports Daily Star.

After the trio spoke of her success on the show, talk turned to her title where her family revealed that she never mentions her MBE at home.

After much public comment, Richard asked her family members: "I have to clear this up. When she's at home does she always refer to herself as her full title, Hollie Arnold MBE?"

He added: "I mean, it's a great surname."

Laughing, Ashley replied: "No, no she doesn't. She actually never says it at all which is funny really.

"But I know if I had an MBE I would be saying it all the time if we went to a restaurant or even in the supermarket."

Richard replied laughing: "Quite right there. My full title is Richard Arnold and that's it because no one wants to claim or be related to me."

Hollie's mum joked back: "We'll be related to you Richard. Don't worry."

Richard replied: "Hahaha I'm sure we might well be distant. We may well be."

Hollie was the first celebrity to be voted out of the castle by the public - a decision that left the rest of the camp stunned.

Her departure came after Shane Richie and AJ Pritchard triumphed during their Chamber of Horrors trial, which saw the group eat like kings and queens for their final meal as a family.
