I’m A Celeb fans terrified as star forced to seek medical help after trial goes wrong

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! medics were forced to intervene after Jill Scott got a cockroach stuck in her ear during a Bushtucker Trial on Thursday evening.

The ‘Scareground’ Trial did not see the public vote for the campmate to undergo the creepy crawly tribulations, as the campmates instead chose the three to take part themselves.

After hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donelly shared the news, Mike Tindall, Owen Warner, Matt Hancock and Jill all put their hands up to volunteer for the trial.

The camp then realised Lioness had yet to take part in a trial, while Mr Hancock had done a few, resulting in the former Health secretary stepping down from the duties.

Jill admitted she was nervous in the Bush Telegraph (ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

Mike added: “She’s a professional athlete, she’ll be good.”

In the Bush Telegraph Jill said: “You have to believe in yourself and believe you can add something and we need a girl in there.”

The campmates were treated to a day out as they all got to watch the Bushtucker Trial unfold.

The three campmates then learned the three would have to choose between taking part in Unlucky Dip, the Critter Carousel or the Fiendish Ferris Wheel.

Jill decided to go in the Unlucky Dip, Mike in the Critter Carousel leaving Owen in the Fiendish Ferris Wheel.

Mike got covered in green ants, while Owen was repeatedly dunked in a tank of yabbies, eels and mudcrabs as he attempted to throw the balls his campmates got to him in the pot. If it landed in it, it earned that celeb another ball in the Tombola.

When the trial ended, Jill said she had a cockroach stuck in her ear, at which point a medic rushed to her side to remove the insect as Jill said: “Come to the jungle they said, it would be fun…”

Ant said: “Jill, that was bigger than the one Fatima Whitbread had up her nose!”

I'm A Celeb viewers were left horrified by the moment but equally impressed at how calm the Lioness was in the moment.Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "A cockroach in Jill's ear but she is still calm and collected. Respect for a queen," as a second said: "Cockroach in the ear… HOW WAS SHE SO CALM!???"

A third horrified fan wrote: "THERE WAS A COCKROACH IN HER EAR AND SHE JUST CALMLY SAID IT WAS IN THERE? I'd have SCREAMED."

Jill had admitted she was nervous in the Bush Telegraph as she said: “It’s like making your debut in football isn’t it? All eyes kind of on you. I feel like I got the call up off the bench so I definitely can’t let the side down now.”

Owen said: “I’m in an award-winning athlete sandwich, not much can go wrong here, surely?”
