I'm A Celeb fans slam 'fix' as Owen left 'devastated' after missing BBQ to Matt Hancock

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! campmate Owen Warner was left ‘devastated’ in scenes on Thursday evening, after he missed out of a beachside surf and turf.

The ITV reality show celebrities had the chance to fly away from the jungle for one evening to enjoy a BBQ, but there were only three places up for grabs.

The three campmates were chosen at random from a tombola by hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly after a Bushtucker Trial, completed by Jill Scott, Mike Owen and Owen.

The first person the hosts drew was Jill, followed by Matt Hancock and finally Sue Cleaver – despite the fact that Owen had the highest number of balls in the draw to jet off for the meal.

All three campmates apologised to a hungry Owen before they left, as Sue said: “Oh Owen, I feel terrible.”

Owen replied: “Sue, have a sick day, don’t feel bad at all!” Owen then had to undergo another Bushtucker Trial alongside Babatúndé Aleshe and Scarlette Doublas to get meals for camp.

Then Owen in the Bush Telegraph later said: “I want to say that I’m not gutted, I want to be as happy as I can be for them, but I am ‘devo’d’.”

He added: “Sue didn’t really fancy it, Matt’s been here five minutes, Jill… Jill is a sweet, sweet soul, she’s an angel, I’m so happy for Jill.”

Seann said: “Matt is having an absolute holiday here. Sat in that chair, has a sleep in that bed, then goes to the beach for the day.”

Boy George added: “Can I just cut you off there, he still has to be Matt Hancock.”

I'm A Celebrity fans were similarly disappointed Owen did not get picked to go to the beach for the meal, as they took to Twitter to even slam the move as a 'fix'.

One wrote: "The whole tombola thing was a fix!" as another said: "This show is a fix we're rioting at dawn for Owen".

A third wrote: "No way they just pulled out 6 balls, and got 6 different colours. That’s a fix!" as another said: "I’m sure Hancock going is a fix."

Another tweeted: "What a fix, sue can’t do challenges so she gets picked out of all the balls to go to BBQ when she has only 2 balls."
