I'm A Celeb fans puzzled over Dec blunder as he comments on 'cash prize'

I'm A Celebrity fans were left puzzled as host Dec Donnelly made a comment about a 'cash prize' on the series.

The TV presenter confused viewers of the ITV show as he and Ant began talking about the three finalists ahead of their final trials.

Throwing out the jokes as usual, Dec said: "The DFS sale has come early, every celebrity must go! But which one will you choose?"

Ant added: "Frankie - stylish, modern, elegant. Danny - durable, well built and reliable. Or Simon - generously upholstered, comfortable and manufacturers recommend not letting it rip."

Dec then continued: "Tonight, we'll see all three of them do their last ever trial before one of them becomes castle royalty."

His co-star went on: "Whoever that is, tomorrow morning, they'll look at their bank account and think one thing."

"Why did I just spend three weeks doing a TV show that doesn't have a cash prize," Dec finished off.

But fans of the show were left baffled by the joke as they pointed out the celebrities are paid a huge amount for going on the show.

Over on Twitter, one person fumed: "They don't win a cash prize cos they're getting paid a fortune already ffs."

A second penned: "The 'no cash prize' gag would've been funny if it weren't for the fact they're all literally being paid to go in there."

"Why did they do a tv show without a cash prize? Because they were paid before they even went in," a third added.

And a fourth raged: "Like they haven't all got a cash prize coming their way!"

A fifth commented: "Except it does have a cash prize."

The remaining contestants - Frankie, Danny and Simon - will receive a big sum of cash when they leave the show.

It's also thought they are set to rake in millions with lucrative deals following their stints on this year's series.

Frankie reportedly had offers that could make her more than £1million after leaving the show but she will be selective after re-evaluating her life during lockdown.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale star Danny is set to become a millionaire if he wins the 2021 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The 30-year-old actor is a fan favourite to win the show and he's already lined up some big work opportunities for once he leaves the castle.
