I'm A Celeb fans mock Nick Knowles as he reveals he wanted to 'heal Brexit Britain' with jungle stay

I’m A Celebrity fans mocked Nick Knowles after he revealed he wanted to try and “heal a divided Britain” with his stint on the show.

The DIY SOS presenter opened up about his plans as he became the the sixth celebrity to get the boot on Thursday night.

Viewers couldn’t help but laugh at Knowles’ admission that he wanted to “heal” the country after it was left divided by Brexit.

He said: “We're having such a hard time in the UK at the minute and there's such division in the UK.

“I thought if we could show in here we can get on, it might influence people back home.”

One viewer tweeted: “Nick Knowles trying to solve Brexit through the medium of the I’m A Celebrity jungle. He doesn’t help himself does he? #ImACeleb.”

The 56-year-old is no stranger to sparking a furore on Twitter, having left viewers baffled on Wednesday with his claim that the moon landing was “fake”.

The presenter confused his campmates and fans at home when he insisted Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin never set foot on the moon.

He followed Anne Hegerty, Rita Simons, Sair Khan, Malique Thompson-Dwyer and Noel Edmonds out of the jungle door.
