I'm A Celeb fans celebrate as 'boring' Matt Hancock is not chosen for next Bushtucker Trial

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! viewers have chosen three celebs to face the next Bushtucker Trial - and it's not Matt Hancock.

The former Health Secretary recently completed his sixth trial since entering the main camp but in recent days, viewers at home have branded him "boring".

Hancock, 44, was tipped to become the celeb to have been voted for the most trials in the history of the show following his coronavirus lockdown scandals.

But as viewers tuned into Monday night's episode, they were relieved when Boy George, Chris Moyles and Babatúndé were announced to be taking part in Angel of Agony.

In a shock twist, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed "it's not you," as they faced Hancock, leaving the Backbench MP rather relieved.

Following the news, fans have flocked to social media to share their relief, with one writing: " Finally not Matt for the trial thank f**k #ImACeleb."

While a second commented: "FINALLY hallelujah Matt is NOT doing a trial, who'd have thought!? #imaceleb."

"So glad it’s not Matt was a bit boring seeing him do all the trials plus the rest [of the] campmates are too comfortable, want to see them not eat tomorrow when boy George doesn’t win any stars want to see some angry ppl with hunger #imaceleb [sic]," tweeted a third.

Before a fourth added: "Thank god. New people doing trials on #ImACeleb fed up of 'the Matt Hancock show' hopefully he gets chucked out first."

Earlier in the episode, Hancock faced the Deserted Down Under trial and explained he had no idea why the public was continually voting for him.

He had 11 minutes to unlock 11 stars and as snakes came into the pit, Hancock said: "I'm just trying to talk about them as if they're completely normal."

As the trial concluded, it emerged that he had won just seven out of a possible 11 stars for his campmates, before explaining: "It's not 11, is it? Fine for dinner, haven't hit it out of the park."

When asked how he remained calm, he said: "I thought of my children, I thought of Gina, I thought of everybody I loved."

Fans, however, were not impressed with some even threatening to boycott the show altogether.

Taking to Twitter, one said: "If Matt is voted for another trial I'm gonna throw a brick at my tv. It's so jarring I don’t want him on my tv any longer, so boring #ImACeleb [sic]."

"I am so bored of the Matt Hancock show! a few weeks ago if you told me I'd get to watch him buried alive on telly I would have jumped with excitement but now I'm just BORED #ImACeleb," fumed a second.

A third tweeted: "Matt is way too boring in trials for you all to have voted him AGAIN #ImACeleb."
