I'm a Celeb camp in major row as three stars uncovered for smuggling in contraband

I'm a Celebrity fans will watch on in horror as chaos enues, when three stars are revealed to be smugglers of contraband - including controversial star Gillian McKeith.

Television star Georgia Toffolo calls the campmates together and then reads a bulletin sent from ITV bosses, reports the Mirror.

She tells them: “Celebrities, there is contraband in camp. You will not get your dinner until you have all surrendered – with all underlined – the contraband. There is an amnesty bowl in the Telegraph.”

The news is met with anger and shock from campmates, but it then emerges that many of them have not been sticking to the rules - including one repeat offender.

On this evening's show Gillian is seen heading to the toilet with Helen Flanagan so they can't be seen discussing the news. However, the 63-year-old has forgotten that bosses will pick up her admittance on their mics.

She whispers to Helen: "I’ve got salt, I’ve got almonds.”

Corrie star Helen replies: "We’d get in so much s***, Gillian. Do you not think?”

Gillian says: “I don’t know.”

The controversial figure grins as the bulletin is read out by Georgia, as this is not her first rodeo. Gillian smuggled spices, salt, pepper and other herbs in her underwear when she first appeared on the ITV show 12 years ago.

Viewers will find out the names of the other two offenders on the show tonight, and the consequences will spill over for days.

A show source said: “This rule breaking seems funny to some people but others are not impressed and think they should be punished, and that it is not part of the game.

"It leads to a big row and the happy atmosphere is broken for good between some contestants. It really kicks off."

Gillian is not the only one to have broken the strict rules over the time that I'm a Celebrity has been on screen.

In 2021, Naughty Boy tried to hide spices on him when entering the Welsh camp, but was caught almost instantly.

Made in Chelsea star Hugo Taylor flouted the rules by hiding salt and pepper sachets in his backpack in 2012.

Also, model Amy Willerton smuggled an entire bag, full of make-up, back in 2012 - and only got caught ten days into her stay.
