I'm A Celeb bosses had to 'edit out' Chris Moyles' digs at host Ant McPartlin

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! bosses are said to be removing comments made by radio DJ Chris Moyles from the final edit.

Bosses are said to be cutting remarks the 48-year-old is rumoured to have made which refer to show host Ant McPartlin 's controversial past, which include causing a car crash as well as his battle with alcoholism.

It is said that as there are quite a lot of comments in the footage from Chris that producers are having to sift through while producing the final edit for the ITV programme, the Mirror reported.

Sources explained that while Chris is joking with the male campmates in the jungle, the comments are "causing headaches". Speaking to The Sun , a source said: "Everyone knows Chris' humour can be a bit close to the mark and it's been no different in camp.

"But there have been some p***take remarks to Ant that have become a problem, like when Ant and Dec pulled up in the speedboat in the first episode, Chris joked he was surprised they let Ant in anything so fast because he’s known to crash stuff."

They went on to say that there had been a "big bottle" on the set of the show, with Chris commenting that it was similar in size to the bottles of vodka that Ant may have at home.

"Chris is friends with the lads and it's coming from a place of banter but that obviously doesn't help in the edit," the source added.

Back in 2018, Ant was banned from driving for 20 months and was fined £86,000 after pleading guilty to drink-driving. The presenter was double the legal alcohol limit at the time of his arrest from a car smash that involved three cars.

He had been driving his car when he veered into the wrong lane while driving around a bend, before crashing into a family sitting in a Mini, before going on to hit a BMW.

Ant has been sober since the incident and has also had a tattoo of Alcoholics Anonymous inked on his left wrist.

At the time of the crash, he said: "I let a lot of people down, and for that, I am truly sorry. I'd like to apologise to everybody involved in the crash and I am just thankful that nobody was seriously hurt in this."

ITV has been approached for comment.
