I'm A Celeb bosses fear mass walkout as three stars have medical treatment

I'm A Celebrity bosses are concerned that there could be a mass walkout from the popular ITV show.

In the first week, three stars - Naughty Boy, Dame Arlene Phillips and Richard Madeley - have been seeking medical treatment, and Richard has already permanently left the castle.

Concerns have been raised about the remaining contestants including Frankie Bridge who has developed a rash.

The show was thrown into chaos when Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley was forced to quit the castle as he had to seek medical treatment at a nearby hospital.

Because he broke the Covid bubble that the cast and crew are in, Richard - who was no doubt expected to be a fan favourite and a contender for King of the Castle - has now had to leave the show.

Bosses are now said to be worried about the health of two other celebrities - Naughty Boy and Dame Arlene Phillips.

The former Strictly Come Dancing judge is having painkillers, The Sun reports, whilst the music producer has requested counselling as he struggles being away from his mum, who has dementia.

"They can’t afford to lose any more big names," the insider shared.

"Spirits were already rock bottom at the start of the week with The Clink and Main Camp split. But there are growing concerns for Arlene who is really struggling and in chronic pain.

"Naughty Boy is also having a tough time. He’s been speaking to the show’s psych team, led by Sandra Scott, on a specially set-up iPad to make sure he is staying upbeat."

To add to their problems, Frankie Bridge has also developed a rash and her ailment is currently being treated with cream.

Richard announced he had left the show earlier today, but insisted he was doing fine.

"Gutted to be leaving so soon but the safety of all the campmates is the No1 priority," he shared, "I’m incredibly excited to watch their journey continue — even more so at the prospect of being somewhere a little warmer."

An ITV spokesperson added: "Our strict Covid protocols mean Richard has sadly had to leave as he is no longer in the bubble the celebrities form when entering the castle. He has been a truly brilliant campmate and we thank him for being part of this series."
