I'm A Celeb after show: Why has Extra Camp been cancelled and what's replaced it?

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2020 has officially started but the new series looks very different to usual.

The show is airing from Gwrych Castle in Abergele, Wales, instead of the Australian jungle and as such ITV has had to make adaptations.

Due to the time change I'm A Celeb is being filmed at night instead of the morning while trials and challenges have had a makeover in line with the show's new surroundings.

Another change is I'm A Celeb's after show, which is new for 2020.

Instead of Extra Camp, which used to follow the main show on ITV2, viewers can tune into The Daily Drop with Vick Hope each morning.

Rather than watch it after the show, new spin-off episodes will be able to watch from 6am each day on the ITV Hub.

Filmed from a virtual studio, The Daily Drop will give fans an extra opportunity to delve deeper into the action from camp.

Viewers at home will be able to hear lively opinions and debates and get all the latest gossip from the castle.

Vick will discuss, debate and dissect all the ongoings at the Welsh camp with a panel of guests. And much like Extra Camp, the celebrities will also join Vick on The Daily Drop to share their experiences of life at the castle following their exit.

The Daily Drop was introduced after Extra Camp was axed by ITV in January.

Presenter Joel Dommett said at the time: "Sad news - The time has unfortunately come to put Extra Camp to bed in its uncomfortable hammock.

"The producers have assured me that @emilyatackofficial @adamthomas21 and myself are not to blame - they said the show was better than ever and also that Joel is the sexiest presenter we have ever had (I was'’t listening but it was something like that) - it is simply because it's expensive given how late it's on and the funds will be used in more prime time slots."

Extra Camp was given its name in 2015 replacing the original spin-off which launched with the show in 2002 and was called I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Now!.

The Daily Drop will now be hosted by Vick Hope and will be available the following morning after every new episode.

Editorial Manager for ITV Hub, Jake Williams, said: "On ITV Hub we continue to utilise our biggest brands to deliver extra must-see content for our viewers.

"I'm A Celebrity…The Daily Drop will be for the fans to watch whenever suits them before the next instalment of I'm A Celebrity on ITV."

You can watch the first instalment of The Daily Drop over on the ITV Hub now.
