Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin has expressed his delight over the Newcastle United Foundation's exciting new plans.
The Foundation announced this morning that they had agreed a naming rights deal for their new multi-million pound home.
The upcoming state-of-the-art community facility will be officially known as NUCASTLE and will be powered by Newcastle Building Society when it opens in March 2022.
NUCASTLE will provide sporting facilities including a rooftop 4G pitch with views of St James' Park, as well as community engagement projects on the city-centre site of the former Murray House Recreational Centre.
Saint-Maximin, who has been known to support the Newcastle United Fans' Foodbank as well as the Foundation in the past, was shown the plans by the club's digital media team and he couldn't hide his excitement for the local kids the new facility will support.
"I love this," Saint-Maximin said on a video published on the Newcastle United Foundation's Twitter page.
"I am really happy to see this because every kid just wants to enjoy and play football.
"It is every kid's dream and when you have this place close to the stadium you can only dream.
"It is lovely to see this."
Building work on the NUCASTLE project is expected to start in November, and the new hub will become the base for more than 120 members of staff at the Foundation.
The facility will offer "innovative classrooms, high-tech digital hub, four-court sports hall, smart fitness suite and accessible changing areas, event and meeting spaces".
