'I love McDonald's so much I had my wedding there and ate a Big Mac while giving birth'

A Cheeseburger addict says she's the world's biggest McDonald's fan - after revealing she held her wedding at the chain - and even went into labour while munching a Big Mac.

Felicity, 40, says she's been mad on McDonald's since she was a baby, when her first word was "Donalds". She even has a secret signal to let her family know she wants to visit a drive thru - a well-rehearsed secret cough.

The mum of four says she's never lost her love for a Happy Meal - and still visits McDonalds with her own children at least twice a week.

"When I was a kid a trip to McDonald's was just filled with so much excitement and fun. It meant we were going on holiday, or it was a special occasion, and it still feels very comforting," Felicity, from Sydney, Australia, said today.

"One of my earliest memories is being in the restaurant with the Styrofoam boxes and getting a toy in my Happy Meal.

"We'd take the toys into school and swap them, everyone had them.

"I still remember having my fourth birthday party there. It was a big deal back then, it just adds to the special memories for me.

"When we were on family road trips, me and my siblings would tell my parents we needed a drink and then do a very fake cough - which became known as the family code for wanting to go to a drive thru.

"I still use it to this day.

"I worked in the police force and when I was doing a lot of shift work, McDonald's was really my friend.

"I did have to cut it back though, because we did some budgeting and it turned out we were actually spending thousands of dollars a year on it. I try to keep my visits to twice a week now."

Felicity's love for the golden arches became a running joke with family and friends - and when she met her now husband, Gareth, 39, he happily joined her for her regular happy meals.

But even he was taken aback when the pair started planning their wedding and Felicity insisted her other true love - McDonald's - should feature in the proceedings too.

She explained: "McDonald's has been such a big part of my life, I thought it should be part of my special day too.

"I knew I'd fancy a cheeseburger on the big day, so I arranged for all the cars to take my wedding party for a burger between the church and the reception venue.

"I queued up for my cheeseburger in my wedding dress. People kept asking if it was really my wedding day, and they couldn't believe it when I said yes.

"Gareth took a bit of convincing, but he knows I like to have fun and I'm not ashamed of my favourite restaurant, but my bridesmaids kept asking me: 'Are you sure you want to do this?'

"They all loved the food in the end though so they were glad I insisted. When I told my mum we were going there on our wedding day, she just laughed, rolled her eyes and said: 'of course!'"

And she's passing her love of McDonald's down to her children, Owen, 10, Cade, eight, Emme, five and four-month-old Arlo.

She said: "I went into labour with Cade in McDonald's. I had taken Owen in there for some lunch, it was a while before my due date and I was starving.

"I always have a cheeseburger but on that day, I felt a bit off so I decided to have a Big Mac. But before I could finish it, I'd started having contractions and I was whisked off to the labour ward.

"I do lovingly refer to him as Big Mac for a joke. We take him back to McDonald's every year on his birthday and he has a photo taken there.

"Some people might be embarrassed about loving McDonald's this much, but I'm happy to shout about it. Most people think it's hilarious, and I'm happy to have a laugh about it. It brings our family together and I hope it stays in our lives for a long time to come."
