Calling all fans of oat milk lattes, tiny sunglasses, and emotionally unavailable creatives: I Love LA will officially return for a second season.
HBO renewed the Rachel Sennott-led series on November 20, almost a full month before the season one finale aired — which tells you the network knows a hit when it sees one.
According to the network, the show is already one of the platform’s fastest-growing comedies, averaging nearly 2 million cross-platform viewers in the US, which is huge for a debut season. So yes — Maia and Tallulah’s (Odessa A’zion) questionable life choices are officially getting another round.

Who is going to be cast in season two of I Love LA?
There isn’t a formal cast announcement for season two yet, but the way season one ends makes it pretty clear the core four aren’t going anywhere. Rachel Sennott’s Maia, Odessa A’zion’s Tallulah, True Whitaker’s Alani and Jordan Firstman’s Charlie are all central to the show’s Hollywood-meets-emotional-disaster ecosystem, and their storylines are left deliberately open in the finale.
Josh Hutcherson is also set up for more screen time as Dylan, given the cheating twist with his coworker Claire (Callie Hernandez) and the unresolved “break” hanging over his relationship with Maia.

Keith David’s turn as Alani’s father and Colin Woodell’s recurring role as Maia’s ex-boss Ben both feed into major season-one cliffhangers, which makes it very plausible they’ll be back as part of the fallout rather than one-and-done guest spots.
Is there a trailer for season two of I Love LA?
At this stage, there is no trailer or teaser for season two. But for now, please relive the best moments of I Love LA IMO:
What will season two of I Love LA be about?
Season two doesn’t have an official logline yet, but Sennott has been clear that the show will keep digging into the core relationships and the uncomfortable, in‑between space her characters live in. Speaking to Deadline about where things could go next, she said, “I think there are so many places we can go from here, and I have a lot of ideas… we teed ourselves up for a lot of action, but we can go in different directions with it, which I think is really exciting.”
The finale, I Love NY, basically hands season two a chaos buffet: Maia rejects Ben’s controlling job offer but still gets pulled back into his orbit, Dylan sleeps with Claire while he’s on a “break” with Maia, and both of them hide the ugliest parts of their week from each other.

Everyone is leaning into avoidance instead of resolution — Maia, Tallulah, Alani and Dylan all walk away with secrets, stalled growth and unresolved conflict, setting up a second season that will have to confront what these characters actually want, not just what they say they want.
Why is this hypothetical plot for season two yelling at me??!!
Sennott has also spoken about not wanting to turn Maia and Dylan into simple hero/villain archetypes, reflecting on how, as she’s gotten older, she’s seen relationships where “this isn’t a bad person… but we are not meant to be together”, and calling that kind of break “even more heartbreaking” because you can’t just villainise the other person. Translation: they are about to get a whole lot messier.
When will season two of I Love LA be released?
There’s no confirmed release date yet for season two, but I for one am already planning a rewatch on HBO Max immediately, if not, sooner!
