'I'll meet you in the car park later!' Shove on Dan Biggar sparks mass altercation as odd threat picked up on camera

A mass skirmish that started with a shove on Wales outside-half Dan Biggar ended with an opponent threatening to take things outside into the car park during Sunday's Leicester v Northampton match.

Leicester Tigers prop Nephi Leatigaga made the offer to one of Biggar's Northampton team-mates late in the Tigers' 28-24 win over the Saints.

Leatigaga's attempt at intimidation was picked up on the referee's microphone and resulted in Wayne Barnes penalising the prop.

The incident was sparked by a scrap between Wales fly-half Dan Biggar and Leicester's Harry Wells.

Wells reacted to Biggar while the former Ospreys man was on the floor, shoving the outside-half.

The pair grappled and shouted at each other before several team-mates from both sides piled in and the players collapsed to the ground.

As Biggar retreated to diffuse the situation and express his dismay at what seemed a relatively unprovoked incident, other altercations broke out.

Referee Barnes said he had no issue with the "bit of a pull and a shove" between them, adding it was "fine".

However, Leatigaga decided to carry on the scrap by telling Northampton prop Emmanuel Iyogun "I'll meet you in the car park later, yeah?"

Barnes wasn't impressed, telling Tigers captain Ellis Genge "18 (Leatigaga) has come in and escalated everything, chucking people and telling them he wants a fight in the car park.

"That's not really acceptable. Have a word with him and calm him down."

Joking about it, BT Sport commentator Austin Healey said he'd "pay to watch that (the fight), but not this (the game)."

He later added he hoped there was no fight as he'd "brought a nice car today and it could get damaged."
