'I'll be back stronger' - Harvey Elliott sends message to young Liverpool fan after ankle injury

Harvey Elliott has sent a message to a young Liverpool fan following his serious injury.

The Reds starlet suffered a dislocated ankle in Sunday’s win over Leeds United in the Premier League.

Elliott was taken to Leeds general Infirmary for immediate treatment, and is expected to have surgery on his ankle today (Tuesday).

Jurgen Klopp said in his press conference ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League tie against AC Milan that Elliott has already “accepted” the severity of his injury.

"I spoke to him right after the game, he was in the best possible place," said Klopp

"He had accepted already that he would be out for a while.

"He is in London and will have the surgery today (Tuesday). That is the next step on the way back and we all wait for news on that."

The dad of one young Liverpool fan took to Twitter to show a message that Elliott sent to his son.

Dom (@TheSlotta) explains how, after seeing Elliott suffer an injury, his son was upset and wanted to send a video message to the Liverpool star.

In a thread of tweets, Dom posts a screenshot of the Instagram chat with Elliott which shows the Liverpool youngster replying to a video message.

“I will be back stronger,” wrote Elliott.

“I feel even better now after hearing your video. Once again, thank you.”

Elliott has already used Instagram to post updates following his injury, including one which showed him watching the rest of Liverpool’s win over Leeds from hospital on his phone.

Another post saw the 18-year-old explain that he did not blame Leeds defender Pascal Struijk for his injury, adding that he did not believe the tackle was worthy of a red card.
