'I just want you home...': Girlfriend's emotional appeal over missing Manchester man who vanished six months ago

The girlfriend of a missing man who vanished six months ago has issued an emotional appeal for his return.

Wayne Rekia, 45, was last seen at Manchester Royal Infirmary at about 8am on August 10, 2021.

He is described as mixed race, around 5ft 9ins tall, and of a medium build.

Police say he was last seen wearing a burgundy T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, a black Berghaus gilet and black Nike TN shoes.

Wayne has a scar on the bridge of his nose and left wrist and also has a tattoo of a black panther on his right arm.

Appealing to Wayne and the public, his partner Natalie said: "Wayne, if you see this then please get in touch with me.

"I am so worried about you and I just want to know that you are safe and ok.

"If anyone has seen Wayne or has any information that could help reunite me with him then please let police know.

"I love you and miss you so much and I just want you to come home."

Wayne is understood to have been a patient at the hospital and vanished without his medication.

Police have previously warned that he failed to pick up medication which may cause him to 'become ill' if he doesn't take it.

Officers say they have been following multiple lines of enquiry and have reviewed more than 30 hours of CCTV from several locations since Wayne's disappearance in their efforts to find him.

Detective Inspector Dan Hadfield of GMP's City of Manchester division, said: "It's been six months since the last sighting of Wayne and we're becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare and safety.

"We know that he has connections to Manchester City Centre, Longsight, the Reddish area of Stockport and Audenshaw in Tameside so he could currently be in any of these locations.

"We also know that he requires medication that he hasn't been collecting since his disappearance and he could become quite unwell without it.

"If anyone has any information about his whereabouts or if you think you may have seen him recently around Greater Manchester then please get in touch with us and help us give his loved ones answers.

"We're releasing new images of Wayne today to mark six months since he was last seen and I appeal to everyone to share our appeal and to keep an eye out for him. Any information, no matter how small, could be crucial to our investigation."

Anyone with information about Wayne's whereabouts should contact police on 0161 856 0765.

Information can also be passed via our LiveChat function at www.gmp.police.uk or via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
