'I just had a sense': Canberra man's $820,000 lottery win

A Kingston man who has won more than $820,000 in the lottery was among 27 winners nationally.

Each division one winner took home more than $740,740 from Saturday Lotto's $20 Million Superdraw.

The Canberra man also won division two 12 times, division three six times, division four 45 times and division five 20 times, bringing his total prize to $820,546.

"I've been playing Lotto for a long time, but this weekend was unlike any other and I just had a sense it was going to happen," he reportedly told lottery officials.

"I just had a funny feeling this was going to be the one. I can't explain it but it's happened.

"I've been playing these numbers for a while, they're special family numbers. And the prize will be shared with my family in one way or another."

The winning ticket was bought at Kingston Newsagency. Owner Mark Wang was thrilled to have a division one win in his outlet.

"It's so exciting! We love it when customers win and we are lucky enough to have sold two division one winning tickets in the past couple of years," he said.

"We wish our winner all the very best with their prize."
