Body-shaming in the workplace is sadly all too common—but one place you’d think you’d escape this is as a DoorDash driver. After all, you don’t directly work with other people. It’s just you and your car. Still, that didn’t stop a customer from giving her opinion to stunned DoorDash driver Kendra (@walk.star3).
In the clip, which has amassed 1.2 million views, Kendra began by describing an initial red flag by this customer: in the order notes, they had written ‘DO NOT PARK IN DRIVEWAY’ in block capital letters. While this request seemed a little off, the TikToker decided, nonetheless, to carry on with her order. As she parked up (far away from the customer’s driveway), she could see them standing on top of the porch and staring.
When Kendra goes to hand over her food, the customer “looks [her] up and down.” She then asks her why she isn’t wearing a uniform. The TikToker explains why. However, the customer still refused to take the food, remarking that she feels “uncomfortable” with Kendra showing “so much skin.”
“I was like, ‘Ma’am, it’s 110 degrees outside,'” the TikToker recalls. “‘I feel like I’m dressed very appropriately for this weather, but I’m sorry that it made you feel uncomfortable. Here’s your food. Have a nice night.'”
In response, Kendra says the customer grabbed her food and walked off. The TikToker then showed her outfit to viewers, which included a t-shirt and full-coverage black minishorts.
“I don’t think I was dressed inappropriately at all,” she says.
@walk.star3 Also this girl was probably in her mid 30’s so for some reason what she said hurts more cause she wasn’t a grumpy old lady lol idk why what she said shook me so much but I’m still bothered by it! Would you feel uncomfortable if someone delivered your food dressed like me?? ??♀️

Commenters were on Kendra’s side
Most commenters sided with the DoorDash driver.
“She acted like you walked up to her in a crop top and Daisy Dukes!” one remarked. “I hope you can put a note of warning on her account for other DoorDash drivers,” a second added.
A third commenter wrote, “You are dressed absolutely fine, it’s hot out, who wants a bunch of clothes on them while outside? If she doesn’t want people showing too much skin handling her food while in 115° weather, she should have driven and gotten it herself.”
