'I insist' - Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa makes surprise Nottingham Forest admission

Marcelo Bielsa insisted his side had 'more resources' than Nottingham Forest, despite losing 2-0 at The City Ground.

Goals from Sammy Ameobi and Tyler Walker condemned the Whites to another defeat, one that means they now only remain in the top two on goal difference alone.

Forest move just one point Bielsa's men, but speaking after the game the Leeds boss was keen to impress that he took full responsibility as he has greater resources at his disposal.

“What I saw is a comparison between the opponents’ tools to beat us and our tools," Bielsa told LeedsLive.

“After, I think we have more resources than their opponent tonight. How the team ran today and the effort they did, really touched me tonight.

“I am touched by that, so if you have resources, players, players who make effort and it’s not enough, the opponent find solutions we are not finding, it’s fair to not put the responsibility on the players.

“I know this one was not a match of 10 chances missed. It was very close. Neither team had a lot of possibilities. What both teams did in attack was quite similar. Of course we needed goals and they scored once before us.

“If tonight we did not create the same chances as we used to, that makes the situation worse for us. For this reason I feel responsible.

“Of course, I am prepared to give solutions in this moment for Leeds and overcome all the difficulties during the whole competition to try to resolve the negative situation to more positive.”

Asked whether any blame could be attributed to keeper Kiko Casilla, who was beaten at his near post for Ameobi's goal, Bielsa once again suggested his team had more than enough to pick up a result.

“I insist one argument: honestly, I believe our resources are better than theirs. So, I am not going to take decisions that focus the responsibility on some players."
