'I hope he doesn't' - Liverpool FC star Fabinho makes admission about Man United ace Casemiro

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has admitted he hopes countryman Casemiro doesn't have too much of an impact at Manchester United following his summer switch from Real Madrid.

Casemiro arrived at Old Trafford from Los Blancos in the summer transfer window in a big-money move, with the 30-year-old having won five Champions League titles and three La Liga crowns. The midfielder has been impressive since joining Erik ten Hag's side and won the Player of the Month award for October.

The Brazilian, who has been included in Tite's World Cup squad for the upcoming tournament in Qatar, has made 18 appearances for United, registering one goal and one assist.

Fabinho will be competing with Casemiro for a starting position in Tite's starting line-up, but the Liverpool man has admitted that he has always congratulated the now United man throughout his illustrious career. The 29-year-old also joked that Casemiro, along with his teammates Fred and Antony, chose the wrong English club.

"When I left and saw him (Casemiro) winning opportunities at Real, I always sent him a congratulatory message. Regardless of whether we compete for position, we get along very well," Fabinho told Brazilian outlet UOL.

"He had already commented that he'd like to play in the Premier League. Too bad he went to the wrong place in England, huh?

"I hope he doesn't improve Manchester United that much. He, Fred, Antony, there are a lot of Brazilians going to the wrong place in the country."

Like Casemiro, Antony arrived at Old Trafford in the summer. The winger, who signed from Dutch giants Ajax, has performed well since his move and scored three goals in his first three Premier League matches.

Meanwhile, Fred, who was brought in four years ago, has started just seven matches for the Reds so far this term and has fallen down the pecking order under Ten Hag.
