When most people order a major appliance, they’re not thinking about how the installation will go.
In general, someone looking to outfit their home will simply contract a professional to do all the requisite installation. In fact, some stores even offer such installations as an add-on with the purchase of the appliance itself.
One woman recently ordered $22,000 worth of appliances from Best Buy and paid for their installation. However, when they were actually installed, she noticed something was amiss—and now, she says Best Buy is refusing to resolve the issue.
What Went Wrong With This Best Buy Installation?
In a video with over 14,000 views, TikToker Hope (@rnhope) explains how a broken oven/range ended up being installed in her kitchen.
“I spent about $22,000 on appliances, and this is how they delivered and installed it today,” she says, showing the oven. The oven is clearly warped.
“They just installed it, and the install guy just ran away before I could even look at it,” Hope continues. “He just said, ‘I have to go.’ And then he wouldn’t let me talk to his supervisor.”
Not only that, but the item is broken to the point where it continually heats up. This means that Hope has had to turn off the breaker for the area in order to stop it from randomly heating up.
“They delivered this 20 minutes ago, and now they’re like, ‘Oh, too bad. So sad. We don’t know when we’re gonna come and pick it up,’” she explains.
She Has Evidence That The Best Buy Installers Knew It Was Broken
For those thinking that it’s possible the delivery person was simply unaware of the damage, Hope provides security camera footage in a follow-up video that appears to show they were well aware of the issues.
In one part of the video, one of the delivery people can be seen looking at the broken area of the oven. Another part of the video reveals that the oven was already warped before it was brought into the house.
“Best Buy will not take responsibility. They are willing to send out a tech to evaluate the damage, however the cost is not complimentary, the tech will decide when he gets here if the demage is due to them installing it,” Hope writes in a comment. “There is no guarantee on replacement, just how we can repair.”
“This is ridiculous,” she states. “Don’t purchase from Best Buy!!”
Has This Happened Before With Best Buy?
On the internet, users have shared numerous stories about their issues with Best Buy.
For example, one user claimed that Best Buy workers repeatedly stole his pickup orders. Another alleged that they bought a MacBook from Best Buy, only to discover an older model in the box being sold as a new one.
As far as being delivered broken appliances is concerned, multiple internet users have reported similar experiences or stories of incompetent installations.
For example, one user said that two of his appliances arrived with significant damage. Others have shared stories of damaged boxes or installations that end up spanning multiple days due to the installers’ lack of preparation.

“Call and tell them you are returning everything… they will try to work a deal,” said a user.
“Contact consumer affairs !!! And if that fails take them to court,” offered another. “I know it sucks but it does work when you file those court papers they know you’re serious. I been stopped buying from Best Buy.”
“This is why credit card chargebacks were invented,” declared a third.
“File a complaint with the BBB, it’s amazing what they can accomplish,” stated a further TikToker.
