New Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has opened up on what went wrong at Manchester United.
Mourinho is back managing in the Premier League less than twelve months after departing Old Trafford last December.
Mauricio Pochettino's time at Tottenham came to an end earlier this week when Daniel Levy made the 'reluctant' decision to part ways with the Argentine.
Mourinho was installed as the new Tottenham manager within twelve hours and has now been tasked with lifting the spirits of a side which sat in 14th ahead of the clash at West Ham United.
But one of the big question marks over Mourinho after his appointment was his acrimonious exit from United.
The 56-year-old fell out with some of the senior players at United and he admits himself that he lost his passion for the game.
"I have to admit, yes (I had lost my passion) And when you are not happy people feel it," Mourinho told BT Sport. "That happiness that you can influence to be better and more enthusiastic yes, I have to admit it, yes."
Despite the way things ended at United, Mourinho insists he still has a great relationship with his former colleagues at the club.
"I received messages from everybody, everywhere [from my former clubs]," Mourinho told Sky Sports. "Maybe I get the opportunity to apologise for not answering 500 of them that I couldn’t answer. I have 700 but only had time to answer 200.
"But it was curious to see, from my last club, so many people showing me that respect, empathy and feeling. It was nice.
"All of them were special. The first one was from [United managing director] Richard Arnold. The third, fourth or fifth was Ed Woodward. And they were my bosses."
