The Little Teahouse in Parkgate has officially closed its doors for good and I'm gutted.
Last weekend was my first and last time visiting the delightful teahouse that oozes utter charm and character. There really was no better place to grab a spot of lunch than here on a breezy Sunday - because what's better than fresh food made with love?
The Little Teahouse on The Parade in Parkgate announced its closure on social media, breaking the news with a "heavy heart". I kicked myself at the news, purely because I was so impressed with my brunch after visiting there for the first time.

After the first bite of cheesy goodness, I told myself I had to visit there again, and now I can't! I guess I'm going to have to relive my utterly scrumptious brie, ham and tomato toastie purely through memory now. Sad times.
I know what you're thinking: "What's so special about a toastie?" Well, let me tell you. I wasn't planning on grabbing lunch at the idyllic spot nestled on The Parade in Parkgate, but I'm so glad I did.
Because I skipped breakfast, I needed something substantial to eat at around 11am but didn't fancy anything too heavy. Cue the classic toastie - which I'm so glad I picked in the end.
Despite not being a big fan of tomato, I was really drawn to the brie and ham combo, I knew it was going to be especially delightful in toastie form, and how right I was. The toastie was golden brown in colour and had a real good crunch to it.
It was the brie that was the real star of the show though. The moreish creamy cheese was perfectly melted and provided the most satisfying 'cheese pull' I've ever seen.
One bite into this bad boy and I could tell that it was made from scratch. It was hot, fresh, and surprisingly really filling. The ham wasn't flimsy or thin like you can sometimes get in a toastie, it was thick, flavoursome and just the right amount of salty.
To my surprise, the tomato actually really complemented the toastie, which is something I never thought I'd say. The delicious flavours combined with the pretty setting is what really made this lunch a memorable one.
As I sat on the bistro table and chairs outside the café and tucked into my cheese feast, I absorbed all the beautiful surroundings and had a really enjoyable brunch. I'm absolutely gutted I didn't get to visit this place more, and now I'm on a mission to find somewhere that does equally as scrumptious toasties.
