'I had goosebumps all game' admits Nottingham Forest captain

Joe Worrall says he spent Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup success playing with goosebumps, such was the memorable atmosphere.

The Nottingham Forest youngster was handed the captaincy on a special night at the City Ground, as the Reds tore through their arch-rivals Derby County, with Worrall leading his troops to a famous victory.

Albert Adomah’s tap-in followed by Joe Lolley’s first ever headed goal and a second half ricochet from Joao Carvalho sealed a 3-0 victory.

From the outset, the Reds' passionate and vociferous fans provided a raucous, atmospheric backdrop to the evening, something which Worrall enjoyed.

“Fantastic result to progress into the next round of the cup,” he wrote on social media.

“Atmosphere at the City Ground was electric and I had goosebumps all game!

“Enjoyed that one, onto the next.”

While Matty Cash hailed the experience after he took the armband when Worrall was replaced by Chema Rodriguez seven minutes from time.

“What an atmosphere,” said Cash.

“Something I’ve always dreamed of wearing the captain armband for Forest!

“Special night."

John Bostock impressed again in the middle of the park alongside Alfa Semedo, and he too praised the Reds’ supporters for their backing.

“What a performance! That one’s for our fans.”
