'I guess that makes me Scottish' - Arsenal fans react to Bukayo Saka England squad omission

Bukayo Saka has been left out of England's squad for Friday night's game against Scotland at Wembley.

Saka enjoyed an extremely productive campaign with Arsenal, netting seven goals and 10 assists to help earn him Arsenal's player of the season award, an impressive feat considering he is still just 19-years-old.

His impressive displays earned him a place in England's 26-man squad for this summer's European Championships - beating out the likes of Jesse Lingard and James Maddison for a spot in Gareth Southgate's side.

Saka scored his first goal in an England shirt, netting the only goal of the game during their 1-0 win over Austria earlier this month and he was named on the bench for The Three Lions' opener against Croatia on Sunday afternoon.

However, the skilful winger was left out of the squad for tonight's clash with Scotland at Wembley - joining Brighton's Ben White and Manchester City's Kyle Walker on the sidelines.

Arsenal fans took to social media to voice their frustrations with Gareth Southgate's selection.

Plenty of Arsenal fans joked about being Scotland fans instead tonight with Gunners' left-back Kieran Tierney named in Steve Clarke's starting line-up after recovering from an injury that forced him out of The Tartan Army's opener against the Czech Republic.

football.london understands that Tierney has agreed a new five-year deal with the club, and will put pen-to-paper on the contract in the coming days.

The 24-year-old has a great relationship with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and is extremely happy in London too.

Tierney featured 27 times in the Premier League last season and was one of Arsenal's most consistent players last term.
