Curtis Jones has spoken about the dream of making his Premier League debut for Liverpool after getting his chance in the win over Bournemouth.
The 18-year-old came off the bench during the second half of the 3-0 win at the Vitality Stadium as he replaced Andrew Robertson.
The young midfielder’s introduction is yet another sign of how highly he’s regarded at Anfield, having previously impressed during the thrilling Carabao Cup victory over Arsenal in October.
He is also set to travel to Qatar later this month after being named in the Reds’ 23-man squad for the FIFA Club World Cup.
Jones received a message of congratulations from during the win over Bournemouth, as well as a number of Liverpool supporters.
And after his big occasion on the south coast, Jones took to Twitter to reflect on a special day.
“I grew up dreaming of this day,” Jones said.
“Unbelievable feeling making my Premier League debut for @LFC today. Another great win and another 3pts for the team. Thanks for all the messages and support!!!”
The Reds restored an 11-point lead at the top of the table as they eased to victory on their travels.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita put the visitors well in control in the first half as they each scored their first league goals of the season.
Mo Salah then wrapped up the points by making it 3-0 after the break, giving Liverpool the perfect preparation for their crucial Champions League encounter with Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday.
